I love this section! I silently guffawed typing the title because I imagine you, the reader, coming to this section and either thinking, cool section (!) or WTH? So this is where I teeter to explore the deep end of deeper thinking. I have always suspected that we writers and artists may be a little off in the reality department. Whether you do or do not believe is not the issue. What is interesting is to dialogue and keep asking questions…
Past Lives. If you believe human and animals have souls, why would it not be possible for us to live on earth more than once? Animals have souls? Mmmm, ponder that, too; why not?
Reincarnation.If you believe humans and animals have souls, why would it not be possible for us as we live more than one life to not come back as our favorite animal if we so wish? Sure we would have a shorter life span for the reincarnation, but what freedom it would be to reincarnate as a bird and soar the downdrafts or be cat or dog and be cared for and lie in the sun for daily naps with no mortgage or obligations.
Angels. If you believe we have souls and that when we die our souls move on, then it is perfectly reasonable to believe that our departed look after us. They frolic around in love, joy, and peace and no pain, hurt, or sorrow and can, in extraordinary circumstances, keep us from harm and dying early. They live on, on the other side of the veil; the other side that most of us can’t see or hear–but not all of us.
Psychics. I didn’t visit my first psychic until after age 40, and I did so because I had always been interested in the notion and I wanted to investigate the possibility for myself. I asked around for references (there are charlatans) and was referred to a local, middle age, Hispanic, Catholic woman who was highly respected in town for her gift of seeing the near future and being able to hear the deceased when they wanted to get us a message. After my time with her, before I left, I asked her when did she know she had the gift. She replied that her Aunt, who had the gift, told her Mother when she was born that she had it, but to shelter her from it until as a young woman she would be able to handle her gift.
About a year later, as a birthday gift, I took my best friend to have a reading from the pyschic, and I too was to have a reading. As soon as I walked in her house, the psychic said, “Your grandfather wants you to slow the hell down with your driving. He sits in the passenger rear in the backseat and he h as prevented you from have three wrecks in the past year.” The psychic did not know if my grandfather was alive or dead; we had not spoken about my grandparents in any way at the first session. Do I believe persons can possess these abilities? Yes. Seerers are mentioned throughout the Bible. But that documentation aside, TV and phone content streams through the air instantaneously and credibly into our homes and cell phones. Why could not some persons also possess the abilities to access information beyond the veil?
Aliens. The belief that there is life besides us humans on little old planet earth has always been a no-brainer to me. The night stars twinkling the vastness of the universe is all the proof needed.
